Bertha From Quigg Strouse, 94, of Mill Hall was welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior on Thursday, September 22, 2022.
Born December 31, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Longenecker From.
Bertha was a 1945 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
She was united in marriage to Earl Quigg who preceded her in death in 2003. She then married Fred Strouse who preceded her in death in 2016.
During World War II, Bertha was employed at Sylvania and later at Chair Works. She then became a bookkeeper, starting her career in the Lock Haven School District and then working for Lock Haven Laundry from 1966 until her retirement in 1993.
Bertha was a faithful member of Lock Haven First Church of Christ and always looked forward to Bible Study.
She was a current member of the Bowling League and was still bowling twice each week.
Bertha enjoyed going on bus trips, doing crossword puzzles and playing card games including Solitaire on her computer.
Surviving are her son, Allen (Marie) Quigg of Narvon; two grandchildren, Sarah (Edwin) Stauffer of Ephrata and Mary (Shawn) Leininger of Tennessee; and two great grandchildren, Zachary and Lucas Leininger.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Muthler and Ruth Russell and brothers, Leonard and Russell From.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 2 PM at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Pastor Matthew Kinley officiating. Interment at Rest Haven Memorial Park will follow.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 PM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lock Haven First Church of Christ through the funeral home.
