Bruce McNeely Obituary

On May 14, 2025, God decided he needed a bit more jocularity in Heaven. That, or a great Bloody Mary, a gourmet meal, some help with his flowers, a wailing Trombone solo to open Maynard's "Country Road", or somebody to spoonerize an entire conversation. Whatever the reason, He gained a very exceptional soul, and took a very dear and kind person from those who love him here on earth.

Born January 19, 1961 in Lexington, KY, Bruce was adopted by Paul and Anna Mae (Berger) McNeely, both of whom preceded him in death.

Bruce had a gaggle of cousins in Indiana whom he and his family visited in the summers as he grew up. He and his cousin, Della Reed Chapman, shared a close bond as their birthdays were only two days apart.

Bruce was an avid horticulturalist, fisherman, chef, lover of Jazz, Funk, Blues, Classic Rock & Roll and attended many concerts, and was a talented mixologist. He was passionate about Sprint Car, Indy, and F1 racing and attended the Indy 500 many times with his lifelong friend, Chris Crosser. But most of all, Bruce loved people, and they loved him.

From his first job at Spotts' Market in Beech Creek to his last job as a Bartender, for many years, at the Sons of Italy in Lock Haven, Bruce made everyone he met feel special. He was truly a remarkable human being.

He will be sorely missed by all, especially the remainder of The Three Amigos, Cory Spotts and Duane Eberhart, with whom he shared many great times, some savory, some not so savory.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Sons of Italy in Lock Haven in honor of our friend, Bruce, on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at the Sons and Daughters of Italy, 1 N. Henderson St., Lock Haven. This will be an informal time with fun, food and sharing memories.

Arrangements are under the direction of Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
