Carl E. Litz, 73, of Mill Hall, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at his home.
Born July 6, 1948 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Anna E. Rupert Litz.
Carl was a 1967 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School.
From 1968 to 1970, he proudly served his country in Vietnam as a soldier in the United States Army.
On June 7, 1980 at the East Main Street United Methodist Church of Lock Haven, Carl married the love of his life, the former Linda M. Smith, who survives.
Carl was employed in the maintenance department at Champion Auto Parts for 26 years, working at all three local locations until his retirement in 1992.
He was a member of the Lock Haven V.F.W., Beech Creek American Legion and Lock Haven 40 & 8 Club.
Carl found much of his enjoyment in the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, camping, boating and gardening. He was very handy and enjoyed woodworking and tinkering around his garage. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of NASCAR and the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies teams. He also loved his dogs, Teddy and Tanner, and had a special relationship with his late Beagle, Sam.
In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Jeremy Young) Eldred of Montoursville and Kimberly (Russ) Smith of Montgomery; a son, Jeffrey (Kristi Liptak) Moore of Rote; a brother, Harry Litz of Lock Haven; a sister, Ruthanne Probst of Ohio; two grandchildren, Marlaina (Troy) Eldred Rupert of Pittsburgh and Carter Smith of Montgomery; a great-grandson, Beckett Rupert; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Litz; a sister-in-law, Pat Litz; a brother-in-law, Danny Probst; and a great-nephew, Terry Litz.
