Clara B. Gunsallus, 89, formerly of Blanchard passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Susque View Home, Lock Haven.
Born February 26, 1929 in Jerseytown, she was the daughter of the late Glenn C. and Hannah B. Renn Smith.
On February 14, 1950, she married her love, Robert H. Gunsallus, who preceded her in death in 2012.
Clara was a member of Hillview Wesleyan Church.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, crocheting and reading. Clara also liked cooking, baking and canning.
Surviving are four sons: John Sewalt (friend, Ann Lipez) of Lock Haven, Robert (Sherrie) Gunsallus, Jr. of Mill Hall, Wesley Gunsallus of Lock Haven and Scott Gunsallus, Sr. of Flemington; her daughter, Kay King of McElhattan; three sisters: Glenna Hyde of Bedford, Arlene Bitler of Millville and Nancy Libengood of Mars; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William Francis Gunsallus and a sister, Marian Slaugenwhite.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington. Burial will follow at Blanchard Baptist Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions in Clara’s name may be made to Susque View Residents’ Fund through the funeral home.
