Denise B. (Smith) Ballenger

Denise M. Ballenger, 71, of Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born February 14, 1954 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Jean Duff Smith.
Denise was a 1972 graduate of Lock Haven High School where she was a proud member of the Lockettes.
She was a member of the Lock Haven First Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School in her earlier years, and was past President of the Dickey Elementary School PTO.
Denise had a special love for children and was honored to babysit many kids over the years.
She enjoyed spending time around her pool and being with her dogs. From the time she was a child, Denise enjoyed her annual tenting at the Grange Fair. Beyond all, Denise was simply a loving and caring person to all- especially as a devoted mother and grandmother.
In addition to her spouse, Denise is survived by two children, Christian (Stephanie) Reeder and Lindsay Shaheen, both of Lock Haven; three grandchildren: Levi, Madison and Skylar; and her two loving dogs, Gracie and Moe.
Friends and family will be received for a time of visitation on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
Private burial will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
