Edna R. Young, 88, passed away on November 15, 2020 at Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.
Born December 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late David Saiers and Margaret Shoemaker Bennet.
On November 20, 1949, she married Eugene Young. They lived in Flemington and then Clintondale for many years before moving to Kissimmee, Florida. Gene passed away on June 13, 1995, in their home in Kissimmee, Florida.
Edna is survived by a daughter, Robin (Gary) Jones; two grandchildren, Justin (Karissa) Jones, Jessica (Chad) Hunter; and three great grandchildren who always put pixie dust in her heart, Mason and Calen Hunter and Emalyn Jones.
Edna graduated in 1949 from Lock Haven High School and took great pride in being a 49’r. She was a beautician for many years in her shop in Clintondale (Young’s Beauty Bar.) After Edna and Gene moved to Kissimmee, they both worked at her favorite place of employment, Walt Disney World. She loved it when she was asked to wear the “Chip” costume for the Chip and Dale skits at Fort Wilderness Campground. Her hobby, for years, was collecting Disney memorabilia. She also loved to travel with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions for Edna may be made through the funeral home to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High Street, Flemington, PA 17745.
