Edythe Clark Obituary

Edythe J. Clark of Flemington, PA passed away on January 16, 2021 at Jersey Shore Hospital.
Edy was born May 11, 1928 to the late William Hager and Orpha Glaze Hager.
On March 18, 1948, she married Paul C. Clark.
In her early years of marriage, she volunteered and then was recruited to work for Susque-view Home. She later obtained her real estate license and worked for two local realty firms. She also worked at Homestead Pools for her “adopted” family, the Groves.
Edythe was one of the neighborhood “Moms” and her home was one where all the “Red Eye” kids were welcomed to congregate. She was a locally renowned seamstress whose gowns adorned dozens of brides, bridesmaids, and prom goers throughout the years. As an artist, her paintings appeared in several juried shows throughout the region. Her artwork was donated to several civic organizations for raffles and she also donated her talent to adorn buildings at Grove’s Park with murals. She was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club and the Lock Haven Lioness Club.
Edy had an eternally youthful and happy attitude and only gave up her beloved motorcycle in her 70’s.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Paul; her brothers, Billy Hager and Stephen Hager; her sister, Gloria Stoddard; and her daughter, Paula Joyce Clark.
She will be profoundly missed by her daughters; Mazie Clark of Mill Hall, Linda (Butch) Hanley of Howard; son, Paul (Mary Ann) Clark of Mill Hall; sister, Kitty Laubscher of Elliga, Ga; grandchildren: Orie (Marie) Hanley of Jacksonville, Dana Hanley of Overland Park, KS, Lane (Hannah) Clark of Portland Oregon, and Kyle (Vivian) Clark of State College, PA. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
The list of her friends and family is infinite, but a special acknowledgement goes out to Jane Council, her dear friend and neighbor for 74 years; all those who provided help and support during her final months; Calvin Butler, Lorie Bilby, and Pat McGee and the countless others who called, stopped by for a visit, or dropped off supplies. Her faithful protector, Honey, will be lost without her.
Her death was after a short, but courageous battle with Covid-19. At Edy’s request, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clinton County SPCA or the Ross Library.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745.
