Gilbert Zener Obituary
Gilbert R. Zener, Sr., 90, of Lock Haven passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 following a brief stay at Susque View Home.
Born January 2, 1930 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Kenneth M. and Sarah K. (Fleming) Zener, Sr.
Gilbert was a 1947 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
On October 20, 1953, he married the former Sara McCloskey with whom he shared 58 years of marriage before her passing in 2011.
Gilbert was employeed at Piper Aircraft for 39 years and then at Renninger's Cabinetry until his retirement.
He attended Faith Baptist Church, Blanchard.
Gilbert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed bowling.
Surviving are two sons, Ron (Paula) Zener of Castanea and Rick (Penny) Zener of Blanchard; three daughters: Kathryn (Marvin) Little of Mill Hall, Ellen (John) Lorson of Jersey Shore and Eleanor Myers of Avis; a sister, Greta Russo of Pine Creek; several grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Sara Zener, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Calvin Zener and two sisters, Nancy Crissinger and Patricia Lachat.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 11 A.M. at Rest Haven Memorial Park with Rev. Troy Kerstetter officiating.
Memorial contributions in Gilbert’s name may be made to Faith Baptist Church of Blanchard through the funeral home.
