Joan Sohmer Obituary
Joan Emily Sohmer, 74, of Bellefonte passed away on the evening of October 11, 2020 with both of her children by her side.
She was born on June 10, 1946 in Pensacola, Florida to Lou and Emily Sohmer.
Joan graduated in the class of 1964 from Lock Haven High School.
She was a proud employee of Hammermill Paper Company for 12 years before becoming a nurse.
Along with her son, Gino Caprio and daughter, Carla Caprio, she is survived by her two sisters, Betsy Dunk of Illinois and Karen Wine of Florida. Joan also has three wonderful grandchildren: Casey Caprio, Emily Caprio and Riley Monsell; her very best of friends, Jerry and Jere Hoy; and her Siamese “kitty-boy,” Ace.
As per Joan’s wishes, she will be cremated, with a Celebration of Life for friends and family to be scheduled at a future date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, PA 17745.
