Josh C. Watkins

Joshua Carl Watkins, 41, of Harrisburg passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at UPMC West Shore, Mechanicsburg.
Born in Ft. Hood, Texas, he was a son of William Watkins and Kimberly (Swope) Watkins.
Josh spent much of his childhood on his grandparents' farm, the farm of Joe and Evelyn Swope. He loved the time he spent there and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.
During his school aged years, he played various sports. He also attended the First Church of Christ, Lock Haven, with his grandparents.
Josh was a 1998 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. He then attended culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts, Pittsburgh.
As a youngster, he worked on the Wendall Coy Vegetable Farm. Most recently Josh was employed at Fry Communication, Mechanicsburg.
Josh was a talented pool shooter and an avid video gamer. He loved hiking and especially fishing with his best friend, Shane McAlister.
Surviving is his life partner and love of his life, Sherry Covert of Mechanicsburg; his son whom he adored, Chester Watkins of New Cumberland; his daughter, Saige Trinity Watkins of Williamsport; his mother, Kimberly (Monk) Swope of Lock Haven; his father, William Watkins of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Joseph Watkins of Carbondale; his grandfather, William E. Watkins of FL; his aunt, Brenda Middaugh of Lock Haven who thought of Josh as a son and was one of the only people allowed to call him Joshua; an aunt and uncle, Sheila Jean Watkins and John Michael Watkins, both of Florida; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins that loved him.
Josh was preceded in death by a brother, Jason Watkins; his maternal grandparents, Joe and Evelyn Swope; and his paternal grandmother, Shirley Watkins. Josh also had many special memories of his late uncle, Ken Youngblood and his wife, Sharon, who survives.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 2 until 4 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
Memorial contributions in Josh's name may be made to the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
