Born in Lock Haven on March 11, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Florence Shoemaker. She was a 1972 graduate of Lock Haven High School. Kaye was married to George R. Summerson on July 6, 1973. She was the light of his life and his "all season girl." They spent 48 wonderful years together and were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Kaye worked at Champion Auto Parts until her retirement in 1997. She had a strong faith and was a member of the Dunnstown United Methodist Church. Kaye loved being with her family and enjoyed playing games with her children and grandchildren as well as doing puzzles with her husband. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, coloring, crafting, being outdoors, kayaking and collecting craft dolls. Kaye was a talented baker and will be remembered for her Christmas cookies and the birthday cakes she made for her children and grandchildren. In 2009, she was a lung transplant recipient.
