Krista Shadle-Smith

Krista Shadle-Smith, 46, of McElhattan passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 of a sudden illness at Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born January 14, 1977 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Sherman David Shadle, III and Carol Anne (Geyer) Shadle who survives in Lock Haven.
Krista was a 1995 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She then earned her degree in Elementary Education from Lock Haven University and later her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Holy Family University.
On December 20, 2003 in Las Vegas, she married her love, Geoffrey D. Smith, with whom she shared 19 years of marriage.
Krista was employed by Keystone Central School District for 14 years, serving as a School Counselor and then this past year taught Kindergarten at Mill Hall Elementary.
She attended First Church of Christ, Lock Haven.
Krista was a member of both the American School Counselor and LHU Alumni Associations.
She served as the Secretary of the Lock Haven Catholic School PTO.
Krista loved taking in Sophia's many activities, shopping, and binge-watching television series or HGTV.
In addition to her husband, Geoffrey Smith and mother, Carol Shadle, she is survived by her daughter, Sophia Smith of McElhattan; brother, Sherman David (Nichole) Shadle, IV of Jersey Shore; father and mother-in-law, Leroy D. and Melissa Smith, Jr. of Woolrich; brother-in-law, Brett (Jackie) Smith of Mt. Lebanon; and nieces and nephews: Amy, Leslie and Haley Shadle of Jersey Shore and Evan, Blake and Maren Smith of Mt. Lebanon.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Bald Birds Brewing Co., 220 Shaffer Ln., Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
