Lee Barth Obituary

Lee M. Barth, 82, of Swissdale passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at his home.

Born December 7, 1936 in Swissdale, he was the son of the late Wilson and Blanche Shoemaker Barth.

After graduating from Lock Haven High School, he served in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis.

In 1959 he married his love, the former Rose A. Caruso, with whom he celebrated just shy of 60 years of marriage.

Lee was a carpenter and later was employed by Hammermill Paper Company until his retirement.

He served on the Woodward Twp. Planning Commission and was a member of both the Lock Haven Elks and VFW.

Lee was a true outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing. He loved snowmobiling and did so in many places including Pennsylvania, New York, Maine and Canada.

In addition to his wife, Rose Barth of Swissdale, he is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Troy) Falls of York and Jennifer (Bill) Decker of Halifax; his sister, Florence Barth of Lock Haven; three grandchildren: TJ Fye, Sadie Clemens and Joshua Decker; and two great grandchildren, Emma and Elizabeth.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Willard, Jack and Harold Barth.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington with Deacon Chip Young officiating. Military Rites will follow. Private burial will take place at Swissdale Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lee’s name may be made to either Swissdale Cemetery or Swissdale United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
