Lester Derr Obituary
Lester W. Derr, 88, of Lock Haven, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona.
Born November 18, 1934 in Warrensville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Louise Dangle Derr.
Lester was a 1954 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
In January of 1955, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he honorably served for 20 years, 2 months and 22 days before his retirement.
After returning from service, Lester was employed at Napa Auto in Mill Hall until his retirement.
Lester was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed following college football and college wrestling.
He is survived by three siblings, Charles Donnie Derr, Lois Lichte and Eddie Derr.
In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Lois Crawford, who passed away on December 2, 2011; and two sisters, Joann Nunes and Rosemary Roller.
A time of viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Military Honors following at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
