Marjorie E. Hackenberg, 69, of Avis passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.
Born December 15, 1949 in Avis, she the only child of the late Harry and Mary Myers.
Marjorie was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School.
On November 16, 1968, she married her love, Arlynn W. Hackenberg. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
In her early years Marjorie was a secretary. More recently she was employed at Manor Care and then All Things Bright and Beautiful Day Care Center where she loved on the children she cared for.
She attended St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Lock Haven.
Marjorie enjoyed fishing, doing crossword puzzles and watching her Soap Operas. Above all, she cherished the many trips she took with her husband, Arlynn.
Along with her husband, Arlynn Hackenberg of Avis, she is survived by a daughter, Marlene (Ron) Mayes of Lock Haven; four grandchildren: Joe, Matthew, Travis and Chad; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Charlie Hackenberg (Carol Smith), Jerry Hackenberg, Glenn Hackenberg and Ada Young; a nephew, Hack; and friends, Pat and Jen Gallagher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Streck in 2003.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11 A.M. at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington with Pastor DiAnn Baxley officiating. Private burial will be at Dunnstown Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 6 until 8 P.M.
