Marshall Whistleman Obituary

Marshall Raymond Whistleman was brought into this world with the love of his parents, Marshall Price Whistleman and Verna Marie Whistleman while residing in Sutton, West Virginia on January 11, 1948.
Marshall was blessed with a host of fun energetic siblings: Walter, Norman (Pnut), Kathy (deceased), Marlene, Butch (deceased), Roger (deceased), Debbie, Paula (Beetle), and Linda.
After moving to Philadelphia, he graduated from Dobbins High School and met the love of his life, Sylvia (Wendy) Whistleman, who preceded him in death.
His close friends and family called him Ray and he was a ray of sunshine to everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed helping others with no questions asked.
Ray was and outdoorsmen who loved to fish and hunt but enjoyed it even more when his sons Clarence (Pell) and Dayton went with him. There were many summers that he invited their friends to go as well.
Building and repairing things was Ray's gift and passion. During his career as a professional masonry foreman he helped build several well-known structures in and around the Philadelphia metropolitan area before retiring. For fun, he continued to take on remolding projects and assisted friends and relatives to complete construction plans for their homes.
Ray was a proud American Legion member of Post 442 in Renovo. He valued the camaraderie and always looked forward to the gatherings that lifted his spirits.
After several challenging health issues developed later in life, Ray was able to rest in peace on May 28, 2021.
Marshall Raymond "Ray" Whistleman will truly be remembered and remain in the hearts of all his family and friends. He leaves behind to morn, three children: Clarence (Pell), Dayton, and Brandie; six siblings: Walter, Norman (Pnut), Marlene, Debbie, Paula (Beetle), and Linda; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 3 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with a livestream of the service being made available via the funeral home Facebook page.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday from 2 P.M. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
