Martha Walker Obituary
Martha P. Walker, 94, formerly of Avis passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Manor Care, Jersey Shore.
Born October 15, 1927 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Cleo T. and Minnie (Moore) Hazel.
After graduating from Mill Hall High School, she was employed at Sylvania and served as the Secretary of the Mill Hall School District School Board.
In 1949, she married her love, Daniel C. Walker, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2007.
Martha was a member of Pine Creek Valley Christian Church.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, jewelry making and baking.
Martha devoted her life to caring for her family.
Surviving are five children: Sandra (William C.) English of Jersey Shore, Daniel (Nancy) Walker, Jr. of Colorado, Sharon (Elwood) Swarm of North Carolina, Dale Walker of Castanea and Shirley (Larry) Thomas of Lock Haven; her siblings: Laura Hazel of Lock Haven and James (Carol) Hazel of New Mexico; 11 grandchildren: William H. and Michael English, Melissa Stapley, Jaime Frazier, Lindsey Collins, Chad and Christopher Swarm, Jeffery, Joseph and Dale, Jr. Walker and Tiffany Mummert; 35 great grandchildren; and 2 great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald E. Walker; a granddaughter, Amanda English; a great granddaughter, Lilianna Walker; and six siblings: Charles Hazel, Louise Spangler, George Hazel, Mary Zimmerman, Ethel Weaver and Buddy Hazel.
A Celebration of Martha's life will be announced at a later date. Inurnment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
