Mary Kunes Obituary
Mary Bianchi Kunes, 99, of Avis, passed away peacefully at her residence on April 18, 2025.
Born on February 17, 1926, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Bianchi and Rose (Fragale) Bianchi. Mary was married to William Kunes at St. Agnes Church in 1958, until his passing in 2004.
Mary graduated from Lock Haven High School and then worked for the old A&P Grocery Store and retired from GTE Sylvania/Verizon.
She was a member of the Alpine Star Lodge #1827, Lock Haven.
Besides her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Joseph and Louis Bianchi; a nephew, Greg Bianchi; and a great-nephew, Joe Bianchi.
She is survived by nephews Stephen (Linda) Bianchi of Woorich and Shawn Bianchi of Lock Haven; a niece, Cindy Harkey of Avis; and several great nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her beloved cat, "Sam."
The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers for the past few years, Lundy, who Mary jokingly referred to as "Commander in Chief," Lynn, Heather, Becky, Monette, Teresa, Cheryl and Francine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, PA 17745 with Rev. Father Joseph Orr officiating. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Lock Haven.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Parish, St. Agnes Church.
