Mary Ellen Karichner, 80, of Sugar Run Road, Mill Hall, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at her home.
She was born in Monument on September 9, 1939, the daughter of the late Blair and Nancy Shope Heverly.
Mary Ellen graduated from Lock Haven High School.
She was employed at Bobbi Brooks before going to work for Hammermill Paper Company for many years. She also crafted and sold Pretty Punch products.
Mary Ellen enjoyed participating in the local bowling league, gardening and bird watching.
She is survived by four children, Howard M. Karichner, Jr. of Mill Hall, Gary A. (Erin) Karichner of Lock Haven, Crystal (Ray) Dugan of Hughesville and Mike Karichner of Lock Haven; five siblings, Maudella Heverly of Snow Shoe, Lorraine Combs of Monument, Dave (Mable) Heverly of Mill Hall, Marla (Tom) Grugan of Mill Hall and Mona (Roger) Falls of Monument; eight grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren with another expected in September.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Heverly.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 1 P.M. at the residence of Mary Ellen’s sister, Lorraine Combs, 109 Birch Way, Beech Creek, PA 16822.
Private inurnment will take place at Romola Cemetery, Marsh Creek.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High Street, Flemington, PA 17745.
