Melvin Crawford Obituary
Melvin L. "Sonny" Crawford, 82, of Lock Haven passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Born April 18, 1940 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Melvin and Claire Allen Crawford.
Sonny attended Lock Haven High School.
In August 1984, he married his love, the former Millie Tressler, with whom he shared nearly 38 years of marriage.
Sonny worked on the railroad- for the former Conrail and then Norfolk Southern- as a trackman.
He attended Tri-County Church, Mill Hall.
Sonny loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the mountains and camping at Kettle Creek.
In addition to his wife, Millie Crawford of Lock Haven, he is survived by his children: Kelly (John) Worden and Kimberly (Chris) Barzona, both of Lock Haven, Kathy Heivly of Williamsport, Joseph (Jenn) Crawford of Loganton, Brad Andrus of Florida, and Stephanie (Jeffrey) Miller and Chad (Glenda) Holland, both of Lock Haven; two brothers, Pete Allen of Mechanicsburg and Larry (Deb) Crawford of Lamar; a sister, Barb (Dick) Dauberman of Mill Hall; many grandchildren; one great grandchildren; and his cat, Lucky.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Crawford and his siblings: Suzie Crawford, Kate Treas, Pat Hamilton, Bill Crawford, Sal Baumbarger and Dick Crawford.
Per his wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
