Patricia L. "Patty" Mantle, 92, of Beech Creek passed away Friday, August 16, 2024 at UPMC Haven Place.
Born May 9, 1932 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm A. and Hazel P. (Kline) Yarnell.
Patty was a 1950 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
She was employed as a school bus driver, first by Peter's, then Schrack's and finally at Bitner Bus Company, retiring in 2010 after 42 years of driving.
Patty was a member of Laurel Run United Methodist Church for 78 years.
She was proud to be a member of Durty Dabbers Motorcycle Club.
Patty was known for her baking- especially cookies and Whoopie Pies- which she always shared with others. This, as well as her other sweet treats, led to her affectionately earning the nickname "Cookie." She also liked canning.
She enjoyed flowers and watching the birds.
Most of all, Patty loved her family and enjoyed their visits.
Surviving are her children: Raymond E. (Teala) Mantle, Jr. of Beech Creek, Lisa (Lewie) Bolopue of Beech Creek and Lana (Steve) Sachetti of Mill Hall; a daughter-in-law, Tonya (Dom) Mantle-Orwick of Beech Creek; grandchildren: Shonna Walker, Lance Mantle, Martin Jeirles, Robert Jeirles, Logan Bolopue, Katlin Mantle, Jeremy Bitner, Nataile Meter and Whitney Bitner; as well as 17 great grandchildren, with one more arriving in January.
She was preceded in death by a son, Samuel A. Mantle; two brothers, Donald A. and Malcolm A. Yarnell; and a special friend, Bob.
Patty's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Haven Place 1st Floor for their kind, competent and loving care shown to our Mom during her stay there.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11AM at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745. Private burial will be at Sunnyside Cemetery, Mill Hall.
