Raymond Eldred Obituary

Raymond Thomas Eldred, 63, of Mill Hall, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
Born July 29, 1962 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Raymond Franklin and Sylvia Jean Ritz Eldred.
Ray was a 1981 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School.
On June 12, 1982 at the Laurel Run United Methodist Church, he married the former Anita F. Killinger, who survives.
Ray enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1983, proudly serving until his honorable discharge in 1987.
He was employed at Rockview Correctional Facility as a Corrections Officer for 20 years, retiring at the age of 50. He then worked in various jobs in short-term capacities. He was an integral part in assisting his son-in-law in operating Goodman's Arms of Lock Haven, where his passion for guns and helping customers truly flourished. He became a certified gunsmith and had a special love and gift for the art of long-range shooting.
Ray was a member of the National Rifle Association, a cardmember at multiple shooting ranges throughout the area and served as an officer for the Tiadaghton Shooting Range.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an accomplished fly fisherman and enjoyed tying flies and making custom fly fishing rods. Along with his son-in-law, Mike, he loved attending the Wings Over Williamsport RC airplane gatherings and events.
Along with his wife, Ray served five years as a foster parent and was honored to have helped many young lives throughout that time.
In addition to his wife, Anita, he is survived by his daughter, Laura Rae (Mike, Jr.) Goodman of McElhattan; his sister, Chris (Jeff) Benner of Rote; two brothers, Dave (Jenn) Eldred of Salona and Keith Eldred of Mill Hall; a sister-in-law, Cathy Dawes of Reedsville; two brother-in-laws, John (Katie) Killinger and Brett Killinger, both of Mill Hall; two grandchildren, Michael Goodman, III and Gabriel Goodman; many nieces and nephews; and his Dachshund's, Buddy and Holly.
