Riley Houser Obituary

Riley Elizabeth Houser, 19, of Mill Hall, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022.
Born in Lock Haven December 19, 2002, she was the daughter of Richard L. Houser, III and Crystal Ann Miller Houser, who survive in Mill Hall.
Riley was one of a kind and had a heart of gold. She was beautiful, talented, funny, thoughtful, caring, and loving. She loved her family! She enjoyed spending time with her brothers and her nephew was her everything. Beating her brothers in Basketball in the backyard happened quite often. She looked forward to Friday night cards at her grandparents, going out on the boat and fishing, music, singing, and tiktoks. If there was a corn hole game going on everyone wanted Riley to be their partner. Sports were her passion.
Riley was always very active in sports playing Basketball, Baseball, and Softball.
She started at a young age playing for Mill Hall and Long Run Little League in Baseball. She was on the Keystone Allstars and was part of the 10-11year old District 12 Champions in 2014. A quote from the newspaper read "After Keystone's Riley Houser struck out Loyalsock's final batter to win the District 12 10-11 Baseball Championship, Houser walked off the mound, threw her glove to the side and got in line to shake hands. No celebration, no jubilation and no fuss." This was our Riley! She was also part of the 2016 Intermediate 50/70 State Champs for Keystone. Riley was a pitcher, catcher and played short stop.
She transitioned to Softball in High School and started Varsity for Central Mountain her Freshman year and played throughout her High School Career. She was a standout and played short stop and 3rd base. She had several Homeruns. She received the 2021 Central Mountain Wildcats Offensive MVP with a Batting Average of .475, On Base Percentage .515, Slugging Percentage .754 and Total Hits 29.
Riley played Travel Softball as well for After Shock and Rebellion. Her family traveled all over to watch her do what she loved. She has tons of trophies and medals and countless MVP awards. She had a huge love for the game.
Riley was a 2021 graduate of Central Mountain High School.
She signed with Keystone College to become a Softball player and attended this past fall majoring in Criminal Justice and was proud to finish the semester on the Dean's List. She then transferred to Lycoming College where she had planned to be a part of their softball team.
Riley had a huge heart and was always happy to help others. She loved her family very much and was a tremendous aunt to her nephew, Preston, who she cared for deeply. She will be missed beyond words by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Richie and Crystal, she is survived by two brothers, Austin L. (Karli) Houser and their son, Preston, and Connor J. (Morgan Wetzel) Houser, all of Mill Hall; her paternal grandparents, Trudy and Richard Lee Houser, Jr. of Mill Hall; her maternal grandmother, Darlene Mallory of Mill Hall; her great-grandfather, Richard Lee Houser, Sr. of Mill Hall; her paternal Aunt's, Brenda Houser (Pat Neff); Nancy Sutton (James): Tracy Houser-Myers (Adam Myers) and many other family members, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandmother, Alva Houser; and maternal great grandmother, Janet Blair.
Friends and family will be received for a time of visitation on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
