Rita F. Ryan, 88, of Mill Hall passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.
Born January 18, 1933 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Stanley A. and Genevieve Domkowski Karwejna.
On May 1, 1954, she married her love, Paul Joseph Ryan, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage before his passing on July 27, 2011.
Throughout the years, Rita was employed as a secretary with various companies.
In 1976, Rita started attending Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was devoted to praying and often prayed the Rosary. Rita was a faithful and active member of her church and played a role in the establishment of the annual Holly Mart.
Rita was a talented crafter, especially enjoying crocheting, knitting and embroidering.
Along with her husband, she was a collector of all things strawberry.
She was a fabulous baker and enjoyed flower gardening and animals.
Rita cherished her Sunday afternoon phone calls with her sister, Mary Ann.
Surviving is her son, Brendan T. (Cindy) Ryan of Lock Haven; her sister, Mary Ann Karwejna of Philadelphia; her grandson, Jonathan Heim; and two great grandchildren, Jonny and Rosie.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Karwejna.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 10 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 310 W. Water St., Lock Haven. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received at the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven on Monday from 6 until 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to either Catholic Charities or the Clinton County S.P.C.A. through the funeral home.
