Robert Diehl Obituary

Robert B. "Bob" Diehl, 91, of Loganton, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 at The Gatehouse Hospice, Williamsport.
Born June 12, 1930 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Joseph Diehl and Nellie E. Bennison Brown.
Bob was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1949 to 1952, where he was stationed in Japan.
On July 2, 1954 in Loganton, he married the love of his life, the former Dorothy J. Brungard, who preceded him in death April 18, 2015.
Bob delivered milk for 30 years for Yearick's Dairy, Kyle's Dairy and then Valley Farms. He then worked for a short time at Piper Aircraft and Hammermill Paper Company before going to work in maintenance for Keystone Central School District, retiring after 19 years of service.
He was a past member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Booneville. He was a lifetime member and past Chief of Sugar Valley Volunteer Fire Company and served for decades on Loganton Borough Council where he was honored to be past President. From 1959 to the day of his passing, Bob also served as Water Operator for the Borough of Loganton.
In addition to his busy life of service, he enjoyed attending flea markets and antique car shows. He also had a passion for restoring classic antique cars and John Deere tractors.
Bob is survived by three daughters, Joyce Flynn and Darla Gerhard, both of Loganton, and Lois (Richard "Sam") Oister of Mt. Pleasant Mills; three siblings, Sarah Robbins of Muncy, Marian (Tom) Lang of Milton, and Richard Brown of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Heather and Adrianna Oister; a special niece, Jane (Leroy) Rossman of Loganton; a special nephew, Robert (Mary) Brungard of Loganton and their son, Jeff (Sherrie) Brungard, as well Jeff and Sherrie's children, Brandon, Cole and Dawson; his caretaker, Beth Muthler; and three very close friends: Bob Marshall, Mike Geyer and Buck Seyler.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Natalie A. Diehl.
Per Bob's wishes, private burial at Fairview Evangelical Cemetery, Loganton, will be held at the convenience of his family.
