Robert K. Jacobs

Robert K. Jacobs, Sr., 92, of Castanea, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at his home.
Born February 3, 1929 in Potters Mills, he was the son of the late Albert and Florence Schroat Jacobs.
Bob was a 1948 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
On May 20, 1950 he married the former Freida M. Spicer, who preceded him in death on December 28, 2017 after 67 years of marriage.
From 1951 to 1953, he served in the United States Army in "The Old Guard" honor guard for Presidents Truman and Eisenhower, an experience he shared often with his family and friends.
After his Honorable Discharge from the military, Bob and his brother, Paul, co-owned and operated Jacobs Brothers Masonry from 1953 until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of the Bald Eagle Beagle Club, Lock Haven VFW and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Bob was the proud owner of the Buckhorn Camp and enjoyed hunting and shooting. He was an avid reader and enjoyed searching local areas for arrowheads and had accumulated a collection over the years. He was a Penn State Football Fan and had a passion for the game of baseball and played on multiple local baseball and softball teams throughout his life. Many people will remember Bob for his natural gift of telling stories, a past time he thoroughly enjoyed.
He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Jacobs Koch of Boalsburg; two sons, Robert "Rube" (Karen) Jacobs and Bradley "Buck" (Teresa) Jacobs, both of Castanea; eight grandchildren: Stephanie Geyer, Amy Jacobs, Rebecca Hosler, Terra Jacobs, Adam Jacobs, Aaron Jacobs, Philip Hibbler and Emily Hibbler; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 12 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with the Very Reverend Canon Dan Salvage officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Clinton County Veteran Affairs.
