Sara A. Gilbert

Sara A. Gilbert, 80, of Ballston Spa passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Born November 12, 1942 in Portland, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Richard Delano and Janet Winton Williamson.
Sara was a graduate of Torrington High School in Connecticut and then attended Becker Junior College in Boston for Secretarial School.
She was united in marriage to Gareth C. "Pete" Gilbert on August 19, 1967 and was happily married for 55 years before his passing in 2022.
Sara was employed as a secretary for many years, retiring from Ballston Spa School District.
She adored her cats and enjoyed art and sewing.
Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Maureen R. (Carey) Probst of Lock Haven, PA and nephews, Brian Probst of Lock Haven, PA and Darren Probst of Germantown, MD.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Herman.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 12 Noon at Ballston Spa Village Cemetery.
Because of her love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to Clinton Co. SPCA, 33 Mill Hill Rd., Lock Haven, PA 17745, a no kill shelter.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
