Susan M. Detwiler, 78, of Lock Haven passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at her home.
Born October 8, 1945 in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Evelyn Hagerty Miller.
Susan was a graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School.
She was married to Samuel W. Detwiler who preceded her in death in 1998.
Susan was employed as a secretary, most recently working at Cognis Corp., Castanea until her retirement.
She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.
Susan loved animals. She enjoyed her breakfast and lunch outings with friends. Most of all, though, she cherished her grandchildren.
Surviving is her daughter, Kelly (Kevin) McCarty of Mt. Holly Springs; her granddaughters, Alexandra and Madisyn McCarty; three step-daughters: Deborah (Tom) Higgins, Judith (Marty) Green and Barbara Brunner; a sister-in-law, Janet Miller; and her nieces and nephews: Cherie Dolan, Terry Miller, John Miller and Sondra Perry.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Miller.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 12 Noon at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven with Pastor Justin Frear officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the church on Monday from 11:30 AM until the time of the service.
