William Vonada Obituary

William C. Vonada passed away peacefully at Williamsport Hospital on August 26, 2018.

Bill was born on October 1, 1938 to Clifford and Vera Vonada of Mackeyville.

His childhood on Elmwood Farm instilled a strong work ethic, sense of fiscal responsibility and community pride. He never missed an opportunity to play a practical joke on someone or find some mischief which made life fun for his sisters and friends. His love of hunting came from his dad and started at an early age. He enjoyed time in the woods and fellowship at camp with his friends and family.

He graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1956 and started working at Kyle's Dairy delivering milk door to door. After retiring from Schneiders Valley Farms after 44 years of milk delivery in the community, there were few people who didn't know Bill.

He served his country in the Army Reserves from 1965-1967.

Bill married Bonnie Rupert on September 12, 1964 and settled on the farm in Mackeyville. Together they raised a family on the simple virtues of an honest day's work, belief in the Lord and love for your family.

His passion for farming was evident in Keystone View Farm and the great pride he took in raising crops and livestock.

He was always ready to lend a helping hand and was involved in numerous organizations. As a 4-H leader he helped kids with livestock projects and building life skills. He was a life-long member of the Mackeyville United Methodist Church and served in many leadership positions throughout the years. His involvement in the Masons led to his membership in the Clinton County Shrine Club. Bill loved being active in the Motor Corps and serving as a Jaffa Roadrunner, taking children to the hospital for needed medical treatment.

His ever-present smile, twinkling eyes and easy laughter will be missed by many.

He is survived by his children; Wade (Pam) Vonada, William (Dawn) Vonada II and Michelle (Tony) Rossman and grandchildren Evan, Megan, Lakyn, Bradyn, Nicholas, Garret and Payton. Also surviving are his sisters Betty Kay (Louis) Long, Nancy Vonada and many nieces and nephews.

He is pre-deceased by his wife Bonnie.

A celebration of life will take place at the Mackeyville United Methodist Church, 23 Fairground Rd., Mill Hall, PA 17751 on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Family and Friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, August 31st from 6-8 pm with a Masonic funeral service beginning at 7:45 pm and Saturday, September 1st from 10-11 am at Mackeyville United Methodist Church.
